Children's Song Book

I made 2 books for my son today.

The first one is a combination Quiet Book & Song Book...

The cover page just has his name on it with velcro letters that he can take off and put back on.

I only have 2 songs in this book so far... I'll add to it later.
I altered clipart that I found, laminated everything and stuck some velcro on it.

The other song in the book is a song that he is learning in Primary this month.
(This is a great flip chart for the song as well)

The next book that I made is just for songs that he will be
learning throughout the year in Primary.I found the pages here and here.
Then I shrunk them in Photoshop so they would fit two on a page.
Laminated them, cut them and bound them with ribbon.
So easy!

ABC Book

I'm a big fan of Photoshop. This is my latest creation...
an ABC Book for my son. He loves it!
Here are a few pages from the book:

I had them printed as 4x6 photos (around $.09 each), laminated them, punched holes and used binder rings to hold them together. It holds up well, even by 2 year old boy standards!

Felt Quiet Books...

This is my first attempt at making a felt Quiet Book.
I started simple with a 4 page Seasons book.
I had extra felt and decided to make an Animal book as well.
(The pig still needs a curly tail...)
I still need to make cover pages for them,
punch the Grommet holes in them and bind them with binder rings (found at an office supply store)... then they will be finished.
The hinged rings are so more than one child can look at the book at a time.
I printed off clip art pictures and used those as my patterns.
These are VERY basic pages... like I said, first attempt. :)

Now that I know a little more about quiet books,
I will attempt to make a Primary Songs Quiet Book... wish me luck.

Quiet Book Ideas

I am always trying to find something to keep little ones quiet during church. I went on line and found pictures of Disney things. I put them together in Photoshop and made it "The Many Colors of Disney" book. I had them printed 5x7 through www.snapfish.com and I will mount them onto card stock (to make them thicker). I will then laminate them and probably bind them together with rings. Who knows how it will hold up in an 18 month old's hands... but we'll give it a whirl.

This book will be the same basic concept as above. (pictures - 4x6 - mounted on card stock, laminated and bound with the rings pictured) This time I am putting family pictures together. They should be fairly easy to rotate as everyone gets older and life changes.
Update: Here is the final product. I tested it out with my son this morning - and he LOVES it!... stay tuned for felt quiet books... hopefully!
